The programme changed slightly again so here's what's lined up for the rest of term:

Changes to the programme - Summer Term 2012

Just to keep you posted, another slight change to the programme, with Singapore Day and Zimbabwe Day swapping round. Grace, who has been a regular member of the group for a long time now, is moving back to Singapore for 3 years in July, so come and support her on May 18th.

Next Three Fridays...

Three more Fridays left until the end of term: come tomorrow (16th) for coffee and to help plan next term's programme. On 23rd March we have a health and beauty morning and on 30th we have a mini Easter celebration - which will involve making something chocolately! Do come - we look forward to seeing you!

We are moving!

This week (10th Feb) at the Lichfield International Women's Group we're treating ourselves to Turkish pudding. The week after that (17th) there is NO MEETING as it's half term and then we are MOVING TO THE WILLOWS CHILDREN'S CENTRE FOR OUR MEETING ON 24th FEBRUARY when Arifa from Burton will be making curry and passing on all sorts of helpful information. The room at the Willows is a bit smaller, which will make it feel more friendly and there is parking nearby, so we hope the move here will be a positive one for the Group. More details to follow...

Big General Meeting - Friday 16th September

Come along this Friday to our meeting to welcome Ilim as our new Chair and discuss future events for the group this term. Maybe you could offer to tell us about your country one week, or share a hobby with us, or cook something from your country (food is always well received!).

There will be interesting and tasty things to eat on Friday (including Turkish pasta) and activities for the children.

Summer Meet Ups

Edyta has kindly offered to keep the International Women's Group running over the summer holidays. The group will meet as usual on Friday mornings except for 12th August and 26th August. Our thanks to Edyta for offering to do this. Please give her as much support as you can. Have a good summer!

The Global Village

IDEA: The Global Village
How did you come to Lichfield? I have an idea to gather together our stories ... the stories of The Lichfield International Women's Group ... and to put them into a book, The Global Village. 

Would you like to share your story? I am fascinated in how we all, from different parts of the world, end up in a little town in middle England!! You can WRITE or TELL your story - in your own language (We will get someone to translate it) or in English ... write it, video it, record it .... Give it to me, and we will translate & edit these stories and put them into a book. Maybe someone will publish it, and we could sell it to help women around the world. 

If you like this idea, please tell your story!!
